Mini Cooper S engine squeal...

Only got my car on Monday, but it's already inherited a real loud squeal, both when driving and when parked. Below is a video of it when parked, has anyone experienced this before? I'm taking it back to mini tomorrow to have it looked at but hope its nothin too bad just thought I would see if anyone has had this problem too and found out what it was..

Also didn't matter if it was in sport, mid or green modes..

Sounds like a loose belt....fanbelt or similar.

Loving my Midnight Black MCS. It's been built, It's been delivered! It's finally mine! One year later and it's been replaced with a lovely 2015 JCW! What a car!!

Well the technician at mini has put the squealing noise down to possible delivery wax on one of the belts which along with moisture made the squeal so they have cleaned the belts with some cleaner so hopefully no more squealing

Do you keep the car outdoors? A few cold mornings with condensation and dew is usually a good test for squealing belts...

Just in case anyone has this problem mini basically have no idea what is making the noise, after several visits to mini to have the following carried out the squeal was still there.
Cleaned belts
Cleaned all hoses and pipes
Stripped engine down
Turbo replaced
Hoses replaced

I personally think it was a bearing from the gearbox or even the alternator. Good luck to anyone else who gets this problem as mini had no clue what it was.

The Toyota Yaris' at work all make a squealing sound like from a belt. Every time I have rented a Yaris (some almost new) they all did it too. One of the mechanics at work said he knew exactly where it was coming from. Where? I inquired. "It's coming from the engine", he replied deadpan.

Any resolution to this? I'm having the same exact issue. I got the noise the first time 2 nights ago, and it happened again tonight. I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow hoping its not super serious. Pretty bummed because the car has 1200 miles on it.
