Operation Blackout JCW

Okay, it took me all of 4 hours of ownership before I started dechroming the JCW. I blacked out the beltline and handles, and replaced the silly JCW side marker thingies with plain black ones.

Looking at it now, I'm reconsidering the full blackout I was planning. I think I actually like the chrome that's left-- It works on this car.

I'm going to go ahead and dip at least the gas cap. The cool thing about plasti-dip is it's totally undoable, so nothing lost except for a pleasant weekend masking and spraying. So if I completely nuke the chrome I can easily and quickly strip it off if it looks too ghetto.

Looking good if you put anymore black on it you need an extra turbo just for the A/C .

It is not "Old School" if you can not put a Weber on it.

LOL Yeah, no kidding. I got into it yesterday and got to medium rare before the Max AC did its thing.

I am thrilled to see I have the timer for the fans now. Awesome. Today I have it set up to attempt to cool the interior for lunch and for the end of the workday. The car is under my spacesuit MINI car cover, too, so that should help.

How about a picture of the spacesuit cover when you can?

Here you go. It's nice cover, well made with thoughtful details. Goofy, but nice.

OK, it is the same one that we have, but we refer to it as the sunglass hut.

Thanks. I'm thrilled to have this car. It's the sports car I've always wanted, pretty much. No compromises this time, I got what I wanted.

I gotta say I've never seen a mini spacesuit before...obviously not enough sun this side of the pond!

What did you use to black out the belt line trim? Electrical tape or an actual beltline black out kit?
