How we name our minis (and other things)

I know silly but my wife has always maned our vehicles,i didn't till i met her.

The names are usually number plate based or salesman or suit the character of the car.

For eg our dacia duster reg is mxa so he is max.

Our Daihatsu sirion was Pid, as the salesman's name was Stuart, ie Stu.... Pid get it?

Our caravan was an Avon dale so he was Dale and current minis are names from her fave tv series vampire diaries and seem to suit the cars. Emmett for the clubby and Damon the roadster.
How do you name yrs?

Surprisingly delighted to have moved to an f54((with a r59 in the fold for fun!)

My previous R56 in Oxygen Blue with white roof was called The Smurf, for obvious reasons.
The new VO F56 with black roof is going to be named Ernie (you know, Bert's little friend), in the same line of thought. Although I'm not entirely sure about this one yet, it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the color combo. Other cars were never named by me, probably because they lacked personality...

Maybe this time I can be strong
But since I know who I am
I'm probably wrong

Hmmm, I see a pattern here, I never named any of my cars although I did refer to some of them as a P. O. S., but when I met and married my wife our vehicles except my trucks were named. Our first mini, an R56 JCW was Jenny Cool Wheels, the 2nd and current mini, an F56JCW is MITEY 2, the current corvette is OOPS Z, and these are on the vanity plates. But, it does draw even more attention to already conspicuous automobiles! I must admit I do enjoy the attention!

Dan, some of them cars in the past have been a POS like this awesome looking Oldsmobile. The cars we drove back in the days.

5 Most Notorious Recalls of All Time
It's not size that makes a recall bad, it's the damage it does to the reputation of a company's products. This is, of course, subjective. But here is PM's list of the five most notorious vehicle recalls of all time.

It is not "Old School" if you can not put a Weber on it.

I usually name my cars, however with my mcs I haven't come up with a name that I like, even the Registration plate is letting me down for names!

I bought a 1972 Ford Pinto and it wasn't the worst car I ever owned, that was the trophy lemon automobile. A 1974 Dodge Charger! I still refer to it as the penultimate P.O.C>

I named mine Wendy, after hearing the name off a Beach Boys soundtrack.
Coincidentally enough my previous BMW was named Rhonda, in the same fashion

As a bloke of a certain age.... I watched the Dukes of Hazzard on a Saturday night. Apart from the obvious delights of Daisy Duke, the general lee was the other star..... you're not going to tell us that the Chargers were not all that are you???

On the topic, I don't normally name my cars, although a female influence led me to call the Mini Tommy (as in Tommy Cooper - British Comic Magician) and I got the certificate from Mini to prove it .
