Smile What is our Cooper D worth ?

Hi there,

My wife and I were given a trade in value at our Mini dealership.
We were surprised our high spec Cooper D (cost 19K in October 2014) is now worth only 10,700.

It has had all brakes done, new tyres, and on 33K miles.
My wife drives it - and I polish it !!

So we are thinking to sell privately.
We've tried to get an idea from Parkers Guide and Pistonheads, but seem to be many variables.
We don't want to be greedy, but nor do we want to just give it away.

Any thoughts please ?

Pepper white with black roof. (No stripes.)
Wheels - Cosmos 17 inch, Black.
LED headlights/daytime running lights.
Darkened rear glass.
Air Conditioning.
Piano Black surface trim.
Glowing Red colour line.
Chrome line interior trim.
Sports leather steering wheel.
Sports seats - Leatherette Black DiamondPearl upholstery.
Passenger seat height adjustment.
Cooper 'S' black honeycomb grille. (Looks good with this fitted.)
Cooper S polished black rear boot panel.
5 Year service pack.

Any guidance appreciated !

Check out the prices on autotrader: cooper s of that age going for 13k so in spite of spec you might only get 2k more selling privately. Plus diesel is getting some bad press. I got 11500 px in October from mini on my very high spec aug 2014 cooper.

Surprisingly delighted to have moved to an f54((with a r59 in the fold for fun!)

Does yours have a Chilli pack? I sold my July 14 Immaculate Volcanic Orange Cooper D with Chilli Pack and 29,000 miles privately in February for 9750 but Mini were offering 1000 less.

I bought mine as a demo however with 5000 miles and paid 15K so your trade in price isnt too bad to me, its the fact you bought new at 19K.

If I were you I'd try selling privately as like mine yours is still under warranty with a service pack for the next owner. I sold my fairly easily but the buyer wanted Volcanic Orange and travelled some distance so maybe I was lucky.

Biggest issue with high spec MINIs is you pay a lot and you can wipe best part of that off when selling plus the F56 isn't selling as well and MINI are flooding the market which only does one thing and that's hit trade in prices!

BMW & MINI to an extent are becoming the new Ford/Vauxhall, most dealer have new ones they can't shift due to high target. Just over a week ago my local dealer had 7 x F57s, 8 x F54s and countless F56 & F55s all unregistered setting in their yard.

When I bought my first new BMW in 1995 I paid cash, it wasnt discounted and there weren't pre reg or low mileage ex management cars available.

I bought my high spec pre reg F54 Clubman with 19 miles on the clock and saved a massive amount, around 10 k. Buying new just isnt an option for me.

If you are flexible on color and options a low low mileage Mini is the way to go if you set on color and options it is best to built your own and drive it for a while. Of course there is always a lease.

It is not "Old School" if you can not put a Weber on it.
