Cost to lose two-tone features ?

I am about to take delivery of a shiny Blazing Red pre-owned F55 5 door hatch. It is 2 years old, so presumably the paint has not changed much in colour.

It has a black roof and black mirror covers (if it makes any difference to anything they are electrically retractable). It also has a panoramic sunroof so the amount of roof area is pretty minimal.

I am not sure about the two-tone look and was wondering how much I should expect to pay to get a top class respray of the roof (in London, so presumably more than elsewhere)

I also wondered how much changing the mirror covers would cost in terms of parts and labour. I have a pair of factory painted mirror covers for £216 on minigenuineparts.co.uk, and am not sure if that is a fair price or not. Also, how much work is involved in changing them and is it a highly skilled operation or basic DIY (taking account of the electrically retractable feature) ?

Any thoughts from the old hands gratefully received !

If you're having the roof done. why not get the mirrors done at the same time I'd say£450 for the roof and mirrors

Sorry, I am being slow ! You meant having the mirror covers re-sprayed at the same time (not replacements being fixed). I had not thought of that as an option .... Duhhhh !!

Blazing red with black roof and mirrors. The dealer has thankfully taken the black bonnet stripes off for me already.

I know we all have different tastes. But that sounds great to me. I especially like the darker roof to match the darker panoramic roof. But I still think £450 ish would get it all done.

Thanks, yes perhaps it will grow on me. To be honest, I have not seen the car in the flesh, only some videos of it. However, there are two with the same colour scheme that live very close by, so I have a good idea what it will look like. That said, those cars don't have the sun roof, so it could be that this will indeed make a difference. Something else I had not thought of !!

The MINI ONE model comes with body colour roofs which could account for the ones near you.

I'd agree with creepy coupe that the roof in black suits the sunroof
