Red face First Bit of Coding

Done my first bit of coding on our new MCS - added the tyre (wheel) temperature readings to the Tyre Pressure Monitoring Display.

Using the E-Sys software / Ethernet cable that I use on my BMW X5 (F15) - works great.

I also want to find / modify the parameters for the adaptive suspension; I'd like to stiffen up 'Sport Mode' a bit more and make 'Mid Mode' somewhere between 'Sport Mode' and 'Green Mode' - if you get my drift!

Not sure if anyone has played with this yet?

This sounds fantastic. I'd love to know if you can vary the suspension settings and whilst I'm sure this technically possible I'm betting their physical range isn't that much greater than the software range......

I just need to find the correct parameters, the damping is bound to be configured as 0-100% 'stiffness' for each driving mode (I hope) though the actual damping value will probably vary about a 'base' value dependent on road speed (gets stiffer the faster you go - oooerrr ) - it must be in there somewhere...

Just need to get my wife out of the car long enough for me to get the laptop plugged in and play!

I bought the software and a suitable programming cable from a bloke in the USA. It's not strictly legal to own it (I don't think) though you can get it if you want it. You can code any 'F' series BMW / Mini with it.

I wonder if you can also disable the ASD with this?

Quick, everyone with adaptive dampers round to Catflap's...he has cables!!
Is your wife liable to bite if we help you to forcibly remove her from your car, so you can get on with your electronic voodoo?

Think we could get a boost gauge on the centre screen with said cable madness catflap pal? I've always thought the excitement analyser was missing a turbo boost pressure gauge.

I agree on that point , but would be interested to hear your findings - It would be really nice to have a favorite mode , where you can have your preferred throttle setting, suspension , my ideal would be

Damping- Green ( soft setting on dampers, Mid and Sport are harsh for concrete motorways and country lanes that I use)
Throttle -Mid Throttle setting ( green is anemic , sport is a bit too much)
Steering - Mid position ( doesnt feel much different to green TBH)
and with the rev match system ( which is only active in sport mode)

At the moment if I want the softer damping ( green ) then I have to put up with the poorer throttle response and heel and toe to match revs.

Even if I adjust the sport setting to medium damping then I have to put up with a rougher ride ,stiffer steering and the overly aggressive throttle

So basically I can never quite get what I want GRRRRRR!

I cant understand why BMW don't let customer choose what they want , and then just keep the last settings on the key fob. as it is the car always defaults to mid mode everytime you reset the ignition.

It is possible this could be programmed in??
