Mini changed mine to the black version. So I can’t help with the trim removal. I’m sure tweedbean did a video of grill removal so it might be included in those steps. Try searching for his videos on YouTube.
I personally wouldn’t get the stick on version when for not much more money you could have the genuine part but that’s personal preference.

In a word. No.
I highlighted the important word. Most people try to remove it with the front bumper in place and break one or more of the retaining clips. I had my car at the body shop for some other work so I asked if he'd paint the grill surround for me. I bought a spare from the dealer just in case, but he managed to remove it without damage, so I returned the new one. I guess I was lucky to have someone that does that sort of thing for a living. Everything I have read on it recommends you put the car in service mode and release the retaining clips from behind to keep from damaging them.

Thanks for the reactions guys. I was afraid of that... nice work for when the summer hits.

Ok will leave it at the front lights rings and backlight rings.

Just buy a black surround from Mini for £30. The old one simply pulls off of the bumper, you might break some clips but doesn't matter if you're replacing it.

I've done 3 now in about 5 minutes each.

No reason to remove the bumper whatsoever mate, lift the bonnet so you can get to the top of the surround.
