Really pleased with car. Question: should I have been given a separate paper manual for XL/audio upgrades as there is nothing in the main one?

no the manual for the audio/electronic system is in the car's memory or available online

You will be given a Handbook as literature to read, otherwise alternatively if you have Visual Boost or a Media Pack (screen Displays) you will be able to use the handbook on the display and even search for individual things/ queries you may have about the car and you questions will be answered
