I just spoke with my sales manager here in Colorado. He said my MINI Hardtop, because it's a manual transmission, was released last Monday, Sep. 29. He said the port (Port Hueneme, CA) has 1000 cars backlogged to go on trucks. Normally a delivery to Colorado would take up to a week, but as nothing's normal, he couldn't say when it would arrive. So I'm giving my chances of seeing my new baby next week about 50-50. If not, I'm definitely expecting it the next week which puts in into mid-October. Here's hoping many of my North American compatriots see their new MINI's starting next week!

Glad to see positive signs of delivery for you and the many others caught up in EPAGATE.. GRRRRRR. What's the deal with the automatics being held up?
Peter, I'm not sure MCS automatics are actually being held up. Mine switched from En Route to VDC early this week when the other models were released. It had been sitting in Port Hueneme since early September as 'en route.' I'm not dealing directly with a dealer, so I don't really have anyone to pester. ;)

In any case, I'm really pulling for my VO to make its way to me by late next week!

Badger from Indiana here. My new VO w white top is being released from eastern port this week! Should be here this week or next. Same EPA drama that we've all been facing. Spent much of the weekend cleaning the garage so she has a nice, clean place to park. I haven't been this excited about a car since my '65 Mustang. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

We'll have to compare pictures, Badger!

I have a VO and white coming as soon as the VDC can cut it loose!

I saw one twice a few months ago near where I live. I haven't seen it since then. Maybe it was a dealer car or something. Anyway, I want to be the first in the 'hood to have one!

Mine has been at the port in MD since Sept 24th, yet the OL still says en route. No release date as of this afternoon thru Mini customer service. I get the fact that it will take time to get them all out, but the lack of ANY information is frustrating. My lease is ending on the 30th of this month and according to my dealer, I SHOULD have my car in the next few weeks. That leaves about 10 days buffer. Given all that has happened, I am not getting a warm and fuzzy.

Hey JP, glad to share pix when my VO finally arrives. Very happy for you as well. I haven't seen ANY VOs in the greater Indianapolis area so I'm pleased about it. I really like the black tops w black stripes but they're quite common. The VO w while top & stripes looks bright and cheerful, especially w the bright steel wheels. Can't wait! --Badger
