Hi, well i just bought the mini cooper s with the basic speakers, but was wondering if this version also comes with the subs under the seats and hows the bass?

also another question, in mexico they offer 3 versions, and if you want to costumize your mini it takes 4 month to arrive from oxford so i ordered the basic mini cooper s they call it salt and i ordered the automatic one, but since its the cheapest version of the S, it doesn't have the green, sport, and normal modes , so i was wondering can i switch them on the 6.5 screen in settings maybe??

Why didn't you just order the spec of car you wanted in the first place and wait 4 months?
I guess if you are going to keep the car for a number if years this is a small time in the big scheme of things?

To answer your question, I am sure most parts can be swooped on a MINI but they will be costly for you.

I think it will be a lot harder than you think to add anything. If I were you I would reorder and wait. The wiring loom for eg is built to the spec of the car so there are no spare wires. You won't be able to change driving modes nor upgrade stereo to a mini one without lots of work 're the stereo you could of course do your own ice install which would I think would be easier and cheaper.but for true oem stuff it will be very costly I think.

As a similar DIY project, I considered adding the nav system in my old 535i. Even pre-wired it was a bear of a job and the parts were going to cost me well over 1000 USD. Not worth it.

yeah, i couldnt wait any longer as i had already been paying taxis for a month and a half and it gets really expensive, in mexico public transportation in not very reliable and i have to get to work on time

I´m from mexico as well (monterrey), i have the cooper S chilli (middle version)... it has the 6 speaker stereo, it does have subs under the seats but they are not very good. Music fidelity is Ok but almost no bass at all. I have the setup in bass all the way up and can´t feel much bass. I now regret not getting the Hot Chilli mainly for the HK sound system although the price was way too high. or getting the pepper (20,000MN) cheaper and with all the bells and whistles
If you can, I would suggest getting the mini cooper pepper, I think is a bit more expensive (30,000MN)than the S salt but has the 8inch screen, head up display, hk sound system, nav system, leather seats etc...

kuros, the pepper is for the mini copper (3 cyl version)... not for the mini cooper S

tDo you know of anyone in the forum that has replaced their stock subs for this ones? It would be great to know how the did it and how they sound with the stock stereo (no amps)

Sounds like a great solution, but then again, do you just replace the OEM one for the focal 8" or do you need an amplifier or something else?
