Picked up my new MINI yesterday evening and drove it home in the dark. I eagerly woke up this morning to finally inspect my new baby in daylight and I saw the glaring scratch in the paint of the driver's side rear door. I'm not sure if a rock was able to leave some sort of gash like this in the paint (my drive home was about 45 mins on a major highway) or what else could've happened. It was parked alone in a the driveway of a very quiet neighborhood. :crying::crying::crying:

Anyway... I told my motoring advisor about it right away and he scheduled an appointment for me on Monday to see if it can be buffed out... fingers crossed...

I honestly don't think you'll be able to buff that out unfortunatly. But a good detailer should be able to make the scratch impossible to find unless you're looking for it.

I know how much that hurts, my Fiat got 2 scratches on it because of idiots on the parking lot the first HOUR I had it, and my Skoda Superb got a big mark from someone slamming the door into it the first night.

I saw my first scratch after about six weeks, and yes, it hurts!

Took it to the dealer and they were not able to buff it out. Said that they will have to send it out and get a paint touch up done. Will do, next time I take it in.

Ouch, it might I got a huge knee out of the wife's black roadster with farecla g3.

So just got back from my dealer this morning. They tried buffing, but it did not work. They offered me 2 options... 1) Re-paint the entire door at my cost or 2) They will bring in a paint repair specialist to mask it as best as possible with touch-up paint. I went for option 2; should be taken care of later this week...

Here in the uk they have server-side like that to a fine art. Wife had the same once on a Hyundai and when they'd finished you couldn't tell.
