Hi All,
I got a countryman f60 1.5t 2018 without driving mode(sport/green bottom)
I brought the switch panel already.
Am I just swap the switch panel and all set or need to set software by e-sys as well?
Thanks a lot~

I'm certain it's more complicated than that and to change the software I think must be incredibly hard.

Bare in mind that doing this will invalidate any warranty on the car

If you have only got the car isn't there some cooling off period where you can change your mind... take it back and get one with driving modes on!

And it will go on your permanent record! Give me a break!

I know that with the bimmercode app you can set your car to always be in the "Sport" mode, but I'm not sure if you need the physical switch to accomplish it or not. I did something similar with my rear fog lights. The car didn't come with the option so I changed the switch out for the correct one and enabled rear fogs using the app. The only thing you risk with the dealer is losing the programming if the dealer has to update the cars software. Even this is not a big deal because you have the app on your phone or iPad and can change it right back.
Hi,
this is the discussion of the Italian Forum megamini.it, where I am the moderator, for the assembly of the Driving Modes on F56 (I think the F60 is very similar) [Thanks to the MF4 user, Marco di Latina].

Really???????????? bimmercode can set to be sport mode????
what's different between mod by e-sys and bimmercode?
Can you teach me how to set sport mode by bimmercode?
Thanks
Hi,

....Thanks a lot...
It looks like I have to add a code in FA folder...am I right?
May I ask the detail about the "code"?
Thanks again
CODIFICATION AND FINAL TEST

Once the last plastic panel has been rearranged, the driving modes are coded.

To this end, a new code must be inserted in the FA folder, ie the 4VA code that corresponds to the Mini Driving Modes option.

Once this is done, proceed with the coding of the BDC module and the final test!

So did you actually try this ? Did it work ? I just had a quote from the above mentioned company for £900 Seems a little steep considering the option factory fitted is £200 ish, I realise its probably more of a pain in the arse to be retro fitted though!!
I've retrofitted driving modes myself twice..

Once when it was the ring around the gear stick and recently when it moved to the old HUD display button on the Centre console.

It's actually fairly simple to do.. you'll need 2 or 3 wires, the new driving mode ring or switch and e-sys.

All in total it took me about 1-2 hours of work (Most of the effort was trying to get the trim off without snapping anything).

Oh and it also only cost me £30 for the driving mode ring off ebay and £60 for the new Centre Console panel/buttons - Much cheaper than getting it factory fitted :)

Now that sounds like the way forward! Dont suppose you would like to make a guide? Or what we need to buy exactly? I did try looking through the italian version but my brain cant cope lol!
Any help would be appreciated though 0:)
I would love to do this too! Just need a guide as I've no idea where to start.
Has nobody got an easy to follow guide in english?

So ehjack, would i follow the wiring on the italian site, but use the new switches? as they show the gear lever ring! where would i add the extra wires?
Fancy helping us out?

What year is your mini? If it's 07/2017+ then you'll need the centre console with the button if it's before then you'll need the ring around the gear stick. I'll try and make a guide if I have time. Happy to answer any questions on here though

Thanks jack I'll order the centre console buttons in a week or so and then maybe pick your brains,
Much appreciated
Thanks
So i had a brainwave today (only one) the switch, is just a fancy looking generic switch? So surely if i put the correct wires in place then coded to start in sports mode all would be good?
Or even just use any old switch to select the mode and then code it.
Sounds logical to me!
What do you guys think?
