From another forum.

I'm not really understanding it, although curious. Apparently available Sept.

Seems interesting. I wonder what if any HP gains there will be
Interesting

It basically mimics changing the noise of the exhaust by the sounds of it only everyone else does it through a button

;)

Bluetooth is the new button I guess then

:D
Really ?

I had to check the date while reading that article but no it isn't 1st April.

Just spotted this seems to be the same idea but might be cheaper fitted then the bmw version
Ahhh a MINI employee told me about this at Goodwood! Cant wait for this
This is the best video I have seen of the Bi-modal to date. Fitted to a MINI USA car that is currently doing MTTS.

You can hear the change in sound when the flap is opened / closed.

This is set to be available in September and I will be ordering for sure :)

btw - anyone know how to embed a video on this forum? all my usual ways are not working??

Very annoying!!
As per the MF article, the details are as follows:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2014/08...f56-jcw-engine-kit-exhaust-wvideo/#more-35909

  • A stainless steel cat-back system – cannot be sold without the engine kit
  • Optional Carbon Fiber and Stainless tips with JCW logos
  • 15hp Power increase due to ECU remapping and increase flow
  • A remote that allows the driver to open and close the electronic baffle inside the exhaust allowing for a more aggressive note when appropriate
  • Track mode – opens the exhaust baffle increasing exhaust noise via a button on the remote – not approved for the street
  • Estimated pricing: $1,600
  • Estimated availability: fall 2014

The big news is that the exhaust is NOT going to be available separately, but instead part of the dealer fit JCW tuning kit.

That video isn't very long, but you can see the remote I guess.

There was a much better video that was on youtube but the user than posted it has since removed the video??? :(
