New to the forum and also this will be my first mini!! I am beyond excited to take possession. Original order date was June 14th here in the USA.....first day to order a 2015. Dealer set the expectation that it would not arrive til probably mid Sept as production date was first week of August.


Got word that it left UK on 7/13 and due to arrive at Port of NY on 25th. YEAH! It is slated to be transported from the port tomorrow to my dealer (Rochester, NY) and land there on Friday. Just got word from my dealer that may not happen. Something about mini holding all 2015 cars for release in the US.


So is anyone else here in the US waiting on a 2015 and hearing the same thing?? Call the customer service and they did not have any idea what I was talking about......wondering if my dealer just does not want me to have one while there are 2014's on the lot.

Whoa, a fellow Rochesterian! Hey neighbor! I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered 6/21, build complete 7/3, shipped out 7/13, arrived at port on 7/23, expected at dealer on 7/31. But my MA also said something about MINI holding back the 2015's (I didn't mention this to the 866-ASK-MINI rep though). I guess we'll find out on Friday :)

Hey there!! I was sooo hoping to find someone in the US, not even thinking it would be someone in my home town! How cool!!


I take it you ordered from Mini of Rochester?? Mike Hostutler by chance your sales guy??? He is the son of a close friend so I know he is not pulling any punches with me, but I was wondering if Dorschel was feeding him a line of crap with the whole 2015 hold back deal.


Sounds like both our vehicles are on the same car carrier....hope they get to know each other! I take it yours was on the ship Torrens??? Were you a lunatic like me and followed it across the pond!??

Yep -- Mini of Rochester and Mike H is my guy too! Glad to hear you've got a personal connection. He's been great with me so far... definitely my best car-buying experience to date.

I chalk up the '2015 holdback' to 'brand management' by either MINI USA or Dorschel. Personally, as excited as I am to get my F56, I still have a few weeks left on a previous lease, so I don't really 'need' it ASAP (again, as much as I want it!).

I was on the Torrens! And tracked it across the pond! I'm betting we are on the same car carrier too. I had originally been scheduled to ship out on July 6th (3 days after production!) on the Don Juan, but was "returned to shipper" as, I'm assuming, the ship filled-up.

When I spoke to a rep from MINI USA today, she said my workorder at the port distribution center was both initiated and completed yesterday (the 28th)... which I'm hoping means no damage from the voyage or issues that needed fixing. She also said that it'll be transported by a company called "Precision Motor Transport". I checked their site, and they do offer GPS truck tracking based on VIN, but only to their direct customers (the manufacturers) it seems.

Hello from the near the Motor City USA (Detroit)

Just like Karbair above, ordered a loaded Pepper White 2015 S on June 14, built on July 7 (my Birthday) & expecting delivery in 7/31. Dealer called on Monday and shared that the 2015's being held in port until verification / approval by the EPA / MPG rating

Holding my breath . .

Glad I am not the only onE being a lunatic. My hubby thinks I have gone nuts.

I too am in a lease til end of oct. I want to be out of my piece of junk12 chevy Cruze as fast as possible. I have a trip to nj next week and was sooo hoping to be in it by then.

Well I did get a few clues from mike today that it may be regulation related in some way. He would not say anything exactly, just that there were rumors of "issues". He was not wanting to say anything until there was official word from mini.

I am so glad you are happy with mike. He is a great guy. I know his mother extremely well and have watched mike "grow up" so to speak. He will prob be in touch with us both tomorrow. Curious. What color is yours. Mine is the pepper white....

I wouldn't say we're being lunatics, all this tracking is half the fun of buying a mini! :D

Nice, I like pepper white! Mine is white silver, black roof and mirrors, and tentacle spoke wheels. I've yet to see white silver in person... they didn't have any on the lot. But I like what I've seen in pictures so far.

Fingers crossed EPA approvals happen soon!

Hello from Texas. I took delivery of mine in April and have already put on about 5500 miles. I will be putting another 2K to 3K+ in the next couple of weeks as we drive in the Mini Takes The States (MTTS) rally. The Rally runs from San Francisco to Boston, we're joining when they hit Dallas this weekend and will drive the eastern half of the rally. If you want to see hundreds of MINI's all congregated, check out the MINI USA MTTS site and swing by and event.

Update: I just spoke to MINI USA again, and was told that my 2015 F56 is NOT part of the EPA/MPG-related delay, and still scheduled to be delivered to the dealer tomorrow. I find this a little hard to believe... but am hoping it's true!

I've had my VO (not really orange, more like school bus yellow.
Look at my avatar to see a real orange Mini.) Cooper S
automatic for about six weeks and have done 1600 miles
in the Los Angeles area.
I've only seen three other F56 MINIs during this time but
not one S.

Send photos of the white Silver upon arrival! The black roof contrast will make it pop!
