G'day. As much as I love the mini that disclaimer that pops up when you start the engine is very annoying having to press the button each time. Anyway to re-program this to remove it? I heard that you can do it on the BMWs by getting a OBD cable but want to know if anyone's done it on their mini. Thanks in advance!

Nope thankfully not on uk cars YET. What a nanny state we live in! Drives Me nuts. I am especially getting fed up of our government telling us how much of what to eat, sugar etc etc. What happened to freedom and common sense. They tell me motorbikes are dangerous but after 50 years my first proper broken bone has been caused by our dog!

I don't know but my money is on this being a characteristic of the ECU country code - if you look up the specification of your particular car on the BMW VIN decoder, I bet it says 'National Version Australia' and, judging by the fact that it seems to only be Australians who ask this question, that may be what is driving this message and so may not be able to be changed. The Canadians have a similar problem with not being able to switch off DRLs for this reason.

Unfortunately it applies to my US MCS, too :(

I've only done programming with my Golf using the Ross-Tech VCDS software, and there I was able to enable/disable some of the country specific settings.
Is there a similar software for BMW/Mini that gives "guided" access to the various settings?
