Hello, quick question... does sport automatic transmission have function Auto Hold? you know, you go to a full stop e.g on crossroads, you put your brake pedal hard to floor and car holds for you - you dont have to step on brake all the time?

thanks

If you mean the hill assist to prevent the car from rolling back, yes it does although with the auto its pretty much redundant anyway. You dont need to press the brake pedal any harder to activate it either, just normal braking pressure

Hat - no, i mean function like Mercedes has - brake hard, and the auto hold is displayed on dashboard and the brakes are holding car in D. I like it there, waiting on Red light is so much more comfortable...

No but as hat says stop press the brake and it will hold you via the hill start for a few seconds. Use the handbrake,at least the mini has a sensible one unlike the stupid foot thing in mercs or electric rubbish.

No this isnt on the mini but i like the idea of it. Sitting with your foot on the brake for long periods does get tiring. The only option is to put the car in Park or neutral and handbrake

This is one of the reasons I dislike automatic transmissions. But they are great in stop-and-go traffic, for sure.

To be honest Uke, the brake pedal on the auto is not heavy or difficult to press at all - I don't find it inconvenient or tiring in any way.

After over a month of driving this lovely little auto cooper I've fallen in love with everything about it... it's almost a pity I'll be handing it over to it's intended driver in a few days. It would be a pity that is... if I wasn't about to be getting a cooper SD manual!

;)
