I'm also having problems with the car playing music over bluetooth. The symptoms are the same as described in the original post. The music over bluetooth will pause, and then skip to catch up to where it should be. This is an LG G2 running Android, paired with a 2015 Mini Cooper hardtop.
Texy, you know bluetooth problems aren't limited to this one person. There's another thread on this forums about similar problems, which you replied to on the same day you replied in this one.

There are other posts in this forum describing bluetooth problems, so it's very unlikely the various phones we have are the problem. Additionally, in this thread, the poster was told by their technicians they had dealt with a few other cars that had bluetooth issues:

In my situation:
- The phone doesn't do this with any other device, so it's not the phone
- Multiple apps exhibit the same behavior (media player, Amazon player etc) so it's not a particular app
- Music from the car's harddrive or from the phone over USB plays fine
- The car has the Connected XL package with the "enhanced bluetooth" option included
The likely culprit is among the iDrive software, car firmware or the bluetooth hardware. I have updated the software from the BMW website, but there has been no change. I'm bringing my car into the service department under warranty, hopefully they can sort it.
If anyone else has had this problem I'd be interested in hearing about it, especially if you were able to solve the problem.
