Finally managed to suss out the bonnet open warning and pedestrian warning .
The N/side bonnet lock has a micro switch which opens and closes.
You might think that short circuiting the wires would put the warning off but it doesn't.
The wires have to be connected but what you need to do is remove the lock (not easy) and take the micro switch off the lock and leave it loose.
Alternatively replace the lock and micro switch if you really think you need warning that the bonnet is open.
Interesting the pedestrian protection warning light went off as well which saved me £115 which a new one cost and as I had been recommended by Mini dealer to buy.
