I realise I will get stick for this, BUT, I come to this forum as it is the most active / interesting I have found - with lots of good advice, pics, ideas, etc. UNFORTUNATELY some / many of the discussion threads are hijacked by the 'VO' team - whatever that is, or by silly one liners that have NOTHING to do with the thread subject.
RESULT - trawl through a load of 'stuff' to get to something worth reading!
MODS - PLEASE GET HIS SORTED. Someone suggested moving the above 'one liners' / VO discussions to PMs.....
SORRYY ALL FOR thE RANT, BUT... I FEEL I HAVE A VALID POINT HERE....:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah, I agree. I've hear enough of "VO" to last me a lifetime already. I don't even like the color. It looks like something slimy and odoriferous that has issued forth from one or more of an infant's orifices.

There should be an off-topic area to absorb the no-content posts.

Lets lighten up here everyone...........

Owning or being interested in Mini's especially the new F56 is what this forum is about.
Does it really matter if people have some fun or express frequent one liners about colours in this case Volcanic Orange?

I am not a Volcanic Orange colour fan (Thunder Grey) but love the humour and witty comments which frequent this great forum.

The advice and information I have received and gained has been invaluable and I am very grateful for people taking the time to support my own threads.

Read the forum threads which interest you or move onto another.
Simples.

Yes but it's the silly one liners and gokarts funny writing's and posts he makes up that make this site so refreshing to read and not stuck down by being to serious.
I have nothing further to say than this because that's all it is - if others don't get it I'm fine myself walking away if humour fun and banter can't be tolerated

With things far more serious in the world right now a little bit of fun hurts no one and for me I couldn't care less about what people choose - every one has always taken it and I have loved being on the receiving end of whatever has been thrown at me and their are some wonderful people here in the process that I've met.

Lately others have come in from nowhere and have completely got the wrong idea that this is somehow a volcanic orange state

Yes I agree let the moderators have their say and be done with it.

I like this forum .....and the banter....some other forums I'm a member of aren't nearly as pleasant.

......and I for one won't be found slaggin' off other peoples choices even if they're not to my taste.

if you don't like it, you don't have to stay.....

that's all I have to say :)

that may not last for too long, as more people join here we're more likely to get those undesirable types

Some of us have been here for a long time now, we have developed friendships with other members, and that sometimes leads to banter.

I agree with Donna, if people don't like it, move on to the next comment/thread or just leave.

Midnight Black is still the best colour though!

It is important that threads remain on topic and are not diverted to a one-upmanship banter about the merits of VO as a colour choice, which many of us have decided is not our colour of choice and have paid extra to avoid the colour.

I would be unhappy if I had a problem and asked for advice and my thread degenerated into a VO banter session.

This has not happened but I do agree the VO banter could be kept in a place where those who are remotely interested in such a discussion could enjoy themselves without affecting others.

Here is a thing

You don't like the colour yet you mention the colour in such a way to provoke a response mainly aimed at the way I weave through things

So to keep this thread on topic I should mention the colour you don't like shouldn't I?

Game set and match - next time folks refer politely your concerns in private to the moderators and leave the others to it but if you do insist on rolling up your sleeves I will not play on this thread and mention that colour to keep it on topic

Two times game set and match.

I'm a boring old fart too, and as of tomorrow will be a proud volcanic orange owner. I'm also a proud ginger, but unless we're very good friends that's getting harder to prove.

according to the poll on colour there's a lot more of us than any other colour, so I think the banter is to be expected. we're all at the new parent stage too, so might be a bit excitable, which is understandable.

obviously volcanic is not to everyones taste, but does that make it fair game to slag off? There's a few I find dull and boring, but hey ho.

threads go off topic, just as conversations do in the real world. The occasional "back on topic" request will often help.

I'm amazed at the tone of the OP, I've always imagined that anything to do with Minis would be light hearted as the car is aimed at the fun end of the market! Otherwise, why would we have an almost endless choice of customisation? Why would I be excited that my exhaust pops and burbles if I didn't want fun? Most of the personalised options we choose at the point of ordering are chosen specifically to ensure we have that 'mad Mini grin' when eventually driving the car!
If I wanted a serious car, and as such, a serious forum, I would not be purchasing a Mini MCS in Volcanic Orange, specced up to the eyeballs. I understand the colour is not to everyone's taste - my own father can't see the attraction - but to me having a fun car in a screaming orange and black colour way is all part of the experience of owning a Mini. This may be my mid life crisis car, who knows, but until the day I possibly wake up and wonder what possessed me to buy a bright orange car, I'm going to ensure I enjoy every minute of it!
I second (and third...) all those posts supporting the banter, it's what keeps me coming back to the forum. Life is serious enough as it is!
I wish there was a 'not like' button...
