Probably a strange question but as I'm trying to get everything in order before the car arrives I was wondering about breakdown cover.

Currently I have it "free" with my bank but I was considering closing my pay account and move banks. Do we get breakdown cover with new mini's or will I still need cover?

I may just go the usual way and buy a year's policy rather than continue with the bank.

It's included I don't know if it's 12 or 36 months as mines a lease car so didn't get separate details

Unless stated at 1 year covers are usually for 3 years - good question Milo - just give the dealer a ring and he will let you know

I am sure on the Mini it's for three years - but it's something I haven't checked

cheers both. Even if it's just 1 year it will be worth cancelling the pay bank account. be good to know for sure as it will save £16 a month!!

Yup - I was told 3 years by my dealer. My AA membership is also now due for renewal, so I will be cancelling that.

A word of warning, make sure you do actually cancel your breakdown cover, rather than just letting it lapse, some companies have a sneaky auto renewal clause and will continue to take money from your account if paid by dd etc

Is it included only if you have TLC? Or do all new minis get it?

Good question - but who in their right mind doesn't get TLC - it's a great deal.

I'm fairly sure breakdown cover is provided as part of the warranty and nothing to do with TLC

The warranty is there whether you have TLC or not.
