I got all excited and ordered a Brodit clip for my new 65 plate Mini Cooper before it arrived. Bought a pumpkin magnet mount to attach my phone too it with. While I was waiting for the Mini to arrive I dremelled all the bits of the clip I didn't need and epoxied the magnet to the clip.

My awesome new mini arrived and I went to fix the clip only to find the Media XL bezel is 1cm narrower on the 2016 than the 2014.. So the clip doesn't fit! Of course, they now advertise the specific clip for 2016 which wasnt there when i placed my original order, so I'm waiting for that to cone in the post. No way I can send the clip back all chopped up, so a waste of £16.

Oh well! I'm loving my mini, did 6 hour round trip in it today with motorway cruising (adaptive cruise control is great), twisty roads in the dark (auto full beam is cool), kicking sounds the whole time (HK is worth every penny), the heads up is sweet, and it is just fun to drive. I grin from the moment i get in to moment i get out!

How long does it last? Does it ever start to feel like just another car?!?

Hi Donna,

It was going in the bin, so you are more than welcome to have it. I managed to snap the magnet mount off it (came off cleanly), but as I said, I had carved a chunk off it with my dremmel.. Was going to go to town on it after I'd tested it and sculpt it down to match the mount but never made it that far. I'll upload a pic later to see if you still want it.

It'll be cool to glue or screw something to.. I hadnt trimmed it down to the bone, so there is still something left. I wanted to trim it down as much as possible so it doesnt cover too much of the LED ring. I going to use a pumpkin magnet mount (£7 on Amazon).

I dont want anything for it, just a matter of getting it to you if you want it.
