Hi all - I thought I'd add a few pictures of my Brodit phone mount, I had it laser cut from 2mm steel and its mice and handy for sat nav etc. I can't see all of the screen on my iPhone 6, but if I really need to then I can just duck my head a little, I'm probably going to lower it a little, so I can see the whole screen, but the current position allows the steering wheel to be adjusted in all positions.

Finally worked out how to attach more than one image....
The bracket attaches to the original screw holes in the back of the speedo housing with 10mm spacers and is sprayed in flat black to get an OE style look :0)

That looks realy good, i am doing something similar but with the mount on the other side of the display. Just need to cut it out of a piece of 4mm aluminum.

I did the Brodit mount as well, but mine came from ProClip USA. Although you can't see it, there is a clip that holds the phone holder. No screws, just a good clip that uses the gaps in the dash to hold on. And it's completely reversible without damage.

I've gone with the Brodit central mount too with a passive holder for my Nexus 5. It works well. The phone is in sight and in reach without getting in the way of anything else. Plus I can unclip the whole thing in a few seconds should I decide I don't want to leave it in view.

This looks awesome - please, could you share your design/measurements for it with me (PM if necessary) this is the best i've seen. Thanks! :D

I second that! Also Mister M, where did you get the black lightning cable? The black cable I bought from amazon is too big to go into the Brodit holder so I am stuck with the white cable that came with my iPhone 6...

I have the Brodit mount on the side of the central display which looks neat but I am on my second base unit as I managed to hit it and the hook that clips into the vent broke. Mister M, I like your base plate design and it would be great if you could share the file as I fancy having one made up with a mount plate on either side for mounting an Ultra gauge.

Cheers mate, good luck with yours, only cost me £20 for the laser cutting, just gotta work out how to hide the wiring ;0)
In the end how did you hide the wiring? I tried dismantling various parts of the dash without much success...the speedo and the centre ring cover come off easily then there are two screws holding on the light ring and screen. Taking them out means you can lift the bottom half of the screen unit out. At the top I chickened out as it seemed attached somehow and I didn't want to break anything...
Removing side panels down in the foot wells doesn't allow much access although there are two screws to start removing the centre console...after I lifted out the i-drive remote unit there is a large bolt which may allow the centre console to come up but again I chickened...

Anyone dismantled the dash successfully in a F55/6?
