how does everyone here wash and detail their mini?

i've had to deal with a black mini cooper before and it required some attention to detail.

2 bucket wash and microfiber cloths galore!

I just stop by the local automated car wash, pay $10 and drive right through, come out with a car thats clean with a few spots of water. Easy!

I guess that i one way of doing it but to the ones that are more OCD I can see a full day spent just on waxing alone

I plan on hand washing mine, if not paying for a hand wash and wax.

My current car went through a car wash a few years ago and got dented by one of the mechanical parts of the giant overhead wash brush. Not obvious unless you scrutinize, but in no way am i putting my Mini through that.

Depends on how rushed I am, but if Im doing a thorough job then:-
-Jet wash
-Snow foam lance
-Wash with lambswool mitt
-Rinse
-Autosmart tardis for tar spots, maybe iron x too if needed
-Megs wheel cleaner
-Clay bar with auto glum detailer
-Dry with micro fibre towel
-Wax using Megs NXT (the tinned one)

I wouldn't touch an auto car wash if its got nylon brushes, it will put swirls on your paintwork, and if you're having vinyl then you shouldn't really get wax on it

I find If I have used naviwax ultimate on it. I would snow foam,cold water,warm rinse, dry and it looks good. If very dirty then iron cleanse and 2 bucket method used.
