Chassis number and tracking!!!!

20985 Views 41 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  Wing Co
Hey everyone!

I finally have a chassis number!!!! It begins with a 2A, where does this mean it's built again? Also what is the website address to track my order online in the UK?

Many thanks!

Extremely excited now

Apparently 5 doors only in Oxford at the mo but others too whereas only 3 doors from Holland but I might be wrong!
Some MINI ONEs are built in Oxford. 2A designation is Oxford. My partner has just taken delivery of her MINI ONE and the dealer showed us the comp screen confirming this. Other MINI ONES are indeed from Holland with a 3A chassis number. Countrymans are also Holland.

Mine was built last week (15/10) in Oxford (verified on lookup) and its a 3 door.

Countrymans (countrymen?) are Austria by a company called Magna, which subcontracts to BMW.

They also made the first generation X1.

I meant to say 'are countrymans also Holland?' Thanks for answering that one
Logged on today and it looks like it was 'produced' today!!! Hopefully that means it won't be long now :D :D

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic! I read it as a question too - hence answering :)

And I meant the first generation X3 not X1 at Magna.
So when I log on now it says production date: 23/10/2014. Does this mean my car has been made now and is ready to be transported to the dealership? :)

My production date was 15/10 and I got the keys on 24/10... so based on that, you might have it by the end of the first week in November :D

*Jaw drops in shock* That would be such a great surprise if it was that early!!! :D
Hi there I saw your car after the crash on styal rd, is that right? I was gobsmacked for you. Hope you were ok.
Mini expands. Seems they have spare capacity, whereas we were told Oxford is now full!

Hey! I'm fine, the car wasn't - it was written off but my insurer gave me invoice amount because it was <1 year old. So I ordered a new one, added a few bits at my own expense and waited again - picked it up on 25th October one month after ordering.

The claim has been settled as third party's fault and I have only my £250 excess left to recover from her insurer (Churchill)... which as of this morning is apparently "in the post".

It all worked out in the end :), but I did have to spend 2 months in a 1.2 litre enterprise corsa :crying:.

I love my new one, has no rattles like the first and when I ordered the first the JCW pack wasn't available - so I got a "second chance" with my order options that not many people get :)

Yes wouldn't wish what you had happen on any one but quite nice to have a long term extended test drive and then refine choices based on first hand experience! Not many can do that. I am happy to manage with my first choices though thanksx
Just been confirmed by BMW/Mini that my mini one with a 2A chassis was definitely built in Oxford :)

Great to hear you're pleased. Think we had the same sales ex at Williams as I was telling her I saw the crash and she knew all about it, she was upset for you. I've now had my 5 door since launch weekend in October and I love it. Was worried I would miss my Mercedes buy no way. Am glad I've gone back to Mini after having one of the first in 2001.

Luv the led lights inside and out and although it's a 1.5 auto cooper it really does have some shift to it.

Went for pepper white black roof black wheels and regularly find people looking at it on car parks. Told the dealer I want some commission for all the sales they will get, lol.

Loving heated seats and the sat nav with the rear view camera, glad I bit the bullet and got those options.

Will look out for you on the roads!
I sold our post lady a mini Rob .she was going to buy a ds3 till I told her to try a mini. Got a bottle to say thanks. We had the choice. Champers or spirits.
When I get a production number, how long till I get a VIN and can track it?

Thanks
I think the VIN becomes available during the production week.
