Unfortunately I didn't get a space saver - and you certainly won't if you've ordered run flats - no need !
I got the foam aerosol - which I believe, once used, the tyre becomes scrap - please advise if this is wrong.
Not sure whether this is standard across the board but would much prefer a space saver .

Collecting tomorrow (Wednesday) at Three
Only one query as to where the spacesaver spare wheel should be .
Is it under the vehicle or in the boot ?
Or has it been overlooked !
Still either way I'm in a chipper mood.

I bet you are, and with good reason!

It is under the car in a plastic moulded tray to protect it, and is released from inside the boot/hatch area using the wheel brace.
The wheel can not be seen just by looking underneath at the back.

There is a cut out in the plastic tray underneath at the back for you to reach the valve and check the pressure. So if you get down low and look under at the back you should see the valve stem protruding very slightly in the cut out, that way you know the spare is there.

Thanks Johnan.
My dealer had no idea !
It seems that the dealer staff are using the customers to obtain information about the product that they are selling.
If they were clever they'd sign up to this Forum & that way they'd know what was going on So simple but why am I not surprised.
Anyway thanks again for you expertise.

You only get the spare wheel if you'd spec'ed/paid for it, together with the jack, at least in the UK This is irrespective of run flats. After years of runflats on my Mini's I shall (hopefully) be glad of cheaper and quieter standard tires.

Cheers Texy

Mine was x demo so unfortunately didn't have the option - do you know if you can buy as an aftermarket extra ??

I would imagine the space saver wheel and tyre will be available to buy as a spare part, but the bits and pieces to fit it into the car in the right place may not be so easy to get.
May be wrong though, with luck for your sake!

Sorry Oli, our posts basically say the same thing!

:nerd:This is actually a very good point to be raised.
After reading this post, I scoured the site and the eBrochure yet could find nothing on the spare wheel options when buying an S car with a Chilli Pack thus going up to 17".
It appears that when the 17" wheel or above is spec'd, the space saver option goes.
Can anyone confirm this or at least put me straight on the issue.

Many thanks:nerd:

I speccd a Space Saver AND the 17inch cosmos so hopefully the spare will be there when I collect tomorrow.
Will report back on this issue.
It's great to be able to opt for so many good things,as each car is unique, but I don't feel that Marketing & customer satisfaction has been thought out.
I informed the dealer of the Forum responses & he's responded that "we'll find the space saver tomorrow "
Brilliant !
Fingers crossed.

I'm certain that you can't have the spare wheel with the cooper S. It's the exhaust, as mikeswagon said.

I'm slightly less certain that if you do get the spare wheel with a cooper then you don't get the mobility kit (can of foam and compressor).

Does anyone know for sure?

My Cooper which arrived last week has the space saver, which I specified, with a tool kit which comprises the jack, wheel brace and locking wheel nut removal socket and no compressor or foam, which I didn't expect anyway.
