got these pictures during a visit to the dealership today, apparently someone just got delivery of their mini on that day and on the drive back a Toyota mechanic had a head-on collision with the mini. the Toyota was written off.
This is every new car owner's nightmare... Looks like it didn't suffer too badly though...

****! My heart breaks for that Mini owner. Not how you want to "break-in" your new car. But i have to say that i'm thoroughly impressed with the crash worthiness. If you told me that the Toyota hit a wall, i would sooner believe that. I'm having a hard time trying to envision how it hit the Mini, and the Mini suffered relatively minor damage in comparison.

I had my first ever new car run away when it was a day old after the handbrake cable stretched - luckily it had the wheels turned as it was pointing backwards at an unprotected river edge!

So when the dealer was fixing it, I said that must have been the earliest damage to a car and they said no, a driver lost control in the ice on the bend outside the dealer and rear-ended a brand new car as it was being reversed off the car transporter....

Ouch. My father in law ordered a black Kia ceed and was then rung by the dealer to say would he mind having a silver one as they'd written it off getting it into their showroom pound. Didn't go in to detail but it turned out to be a very good car!
