Our dealer said as Davey boy states that it's because vo was proving more popular. Its just a sneaky way of increasing prices without the headline price going up. Clever? The least popular colour ie fewest cars sold is free, headline base cost of mini stays put, charge for everything else hey presto stealth increase in price and profit. Mind you with the current climate i cant say theyre profiting they possibly need a rise really! Import costs are on the up.

Basically it's Joe Public who are hammered as fleet buyers don't pay the extra for metallic paint so the increases won't effect them.

Personally I'm disgusted with this as they make enough already from us!

They all seem to be doing; brother is looking at a skoda; the only free colour is a dark non-metallic blue. All very crafty marketing!

Ah I wish Denmark wasn't taxed so bad. A metallic colour is 1310,- ? here. I opted for VO but got the dealership to say they will pay for a potential price increase as I had been told they would change.

All in all my base cooper with pepper and visual boost/enhanced Bluetooth hits about 43.000 ? before discounts. ??.

Granted, if it was cheaper I'd just upgrade to the S and more equipment.
