I agree comfort access is great, but it works so much better on our BMW. Just touch the door handle and it unlocks and changes all of the memory settings for you. It doesn't matter who last drove the car or if it was locked after last use. To lock the car you just touch a spot on the door handle.

Memory settings are stored against the key ;)
Yes but the Mini with Comfort Access does not automatically recognize which key is being used. If you were the last one to used the car, all is fine. If not, you get in the car and discover the other persons settings are active, you have to get out and press the button on the door handle to get your settings. :(

But dont you have to press the button on the door to get in in the first place which would activate your settings? or do you mean when you open it with the fob it doesnt detect your settings? (which seems a bit of a flaw if true), if none of these and they both work then I cant see how you would ever be in a situation where it never got your settings (unless you used the other fob to open the door then got in with a different set of keys).
No, you don't have to press the button if the car is unlocked. Our cars are always unlocked in our garage. BMWs sense which key is being used by just touching the door handle. No locking or unlocking required.
