hi mini lovers,

wanted to get your opinion on a contrast coloured spoiler.

so i ended up buying the JCW spoiler after i got my mini when i realised mine wasnt ordered with it... because its been ordered I have the option to paint it in a colour i want. As it comes in two parts (top and bottom), i was thinking of painting the bottom to match the roof (black), and the top to match the body colour (Volcanic Orange).... thoughts???

meanwhile i am also thinking of adding rear stripes to match the stripes on the bonnet. Has anyone done this?

I think i would do a dry run before I painted the JCW spoiler. Maybe you can pick up a vinyl sample to give you an idea. A VO spoiler on a black roof might be a little over the top.

My opinion, I only like the stripes on the back when the car has viper stripes.

Not sure about the spoiler it's hard to picture it. I kind of like how MINI's have a distinct separation between the bottom and the top when they have a black roof/tinted window. I think the vinyl sample is a great idea or maybe have a play around in photoshop if you can to see if it would work.

The best thing about MINI's is that you can go crazy personalising them so go for it if you like it! If any car can carry a crazy colour combo it's this one.

I have decided to get the black GP stripes on the back, with the orange spoiler. It will still be a dual colour, with black on the base, and just the top in orange.

Will also get the decals stripes on the spoiler as well to tie them both together.

Once it's done i'll post a photo

If I'm honest, I'm not too sure about it......I think the stripes would have looked better if you didn't have the Chromeline exterior. I like the spoiler plain too.

But you make the MINI "yours" in anyway you want, who cares what anyone else reckons!

As long as it's VO >> that's the main thing!!

I'd personally make sure the boot handle was black as well. I like the chrome line exterior in general, but with the stripes and roof spoiler etc the handle would just help set it off.
