Just had my aftermarket nav. system installed today. My 2015 mcs did not include the factory nav. I couldn't justify spending the $1700 to have it installed. So, I found the dealer installed mini branded nav system that is manufactured by Garmin. It was custom designed with mini specific mounting hardware to fit on the steering stalk next to the tach and speedo. I like it a lot. It has a lot of features beyond nav and includes lifetime maps. Best of all, it was only $545. Below are two pics

Very nice product and install. And what a cost saver! Yours is the first pic I've seen of such an application. Best of luck with it and thanks for sharing. Part of me loves the modern technology and part loves the minimalist look without it. Expect I'll eventually get one - maybe in the 4th gen.!

BTW, is it permanently mounted or can you easily pull it off?

Mounting hardware is permanent, but the screen can be popped off.
