Anyone knows if it's possible to disable the rev match? That feature matches the engine speed to the gear you are downshifting to.

While the feature works flawlessly, I find it a bit annoying. I prefer doing it myself.

p.s. haven't read the manual yet ... spent my spare time driving the car instead

I don't think you can disable it. I have just looked in the manual, but can't find anything relating to rev matching in there.

I understood that it could be deactivated if you switch the DSC off; i.e. it's not linked to the sport mode in any way. I can't verify that however as I'm still a week away from mine.

I've heard it being quoted several times by automotive journalists, but until I get the car and try it I can't say!

I confirm. If you disable DSC completely, it will not rev match anymore.

When I say "completely", I mean by pressing the DSC button for a couple seconds.

If you only press the DSC button briefly, it will partly disable DSC which doesn't disable the rev match.

... since I'll want to keep DSC, I'll have to get used to the rev match.

which likely means it cant be, with DCT's or flappy paddle autos theres no way to allow the driver to control the rev match without the third pedal. ITs all ECU...

Interesting thread can anyone confirm that that rev match feature is also on the Cooper D ? I thought I had read that the rev match function only works in sports mode so isn't that an option just put it in mid or green mode?

I was also wondering how good the rev match is. i.e can you change gear without the clutch ?? That would be really good. My only concern is that the clutch dipping tells the gearbox to expect a gear change so in that case it won't work

Does any brave new owner know??

Tried it.

You need to press the clutch for the rev match to happen.

If you try to do a gear change without clutching, no rev match.
