Do you have an iPhone? If so, make sure it's connected by Bluetooth and hold down the voice button in the same fashion you would hold down the iPhone home button to activate Siri... And voila! Siri will do the same via your car as it would on the phone as normal.

And don't worry about the arm rest. Everything I've seen about it is that it gets in the way of the handbrake and media control so you're best off without it

Again - you don't need enhanced Bluetooth for Siri to work. I categorically do not have enhanced Bluetooth and Siri works fine for me by holding down the voice control button until Siri kicks.
