Having issues moving my driver-side seat forwards using the seat handle at the top of the seat.

Say the seat is in its original position. If I pull the seat handle, it tilts the upper-seat forwards (as expected).
However, when I then try to slide the entire seat forwards (to get someone in the back etc.), the seat is locked in place.
The only way I can slide the seat forwards and backwards is using the bar beneath the seat.

I know something is wrong because with the passenger seat I can tilt and slide in one motion by simply using the upper-seat handle - without having to use the bar beneath the seat.

I was wondering if there's a quick/known fix for this before I get in touch with MINI.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same, cable eye was broken.
under the seat there's a small cable and at the end towards the back you will see a little hook that pulls the little cable.
You have to take the seat out.
And it will be a pain in the A** to fix this without taking the back from the seat.
If you go to the dealer, they will rip you off

This happened to me as well, under warranty. Here's the tech's notes: Customer called in and stated the driver's side seat is not adjusting. Verified customer concern. Found bowden cable to seat rail to be kinked and damaged. Removed outer paneling for driver's seat. Removed and replaced bowden cable. Tested operation.

The part was 52-10-7-409-763, bowden cable, seat. Since it was repaired under warranty, there's no hourly breakdown on the invoice.
