Hi I have a Cooper D with 25000 miles on clock from new last July( driving instructor) and have recently noticed an intermittent exhaust noise coming from NSR of car. It only happens every 2 or 3 hours and lasts 10 mins anybody had similar. It's booked in next week for service and to get this checked cheers guys

Sounds like DPF regeneration or something like that , there is a thread on here that mentions something similar.

"Apparently an exhaust problem. Happens for a few seconds every few hundred miles. Sounds like you picked up a tree and you're dragging it; or like you're driving through gravel.

It's related to the diesel particulate filter and regeneration, which the engine management does every few hundred miles...."

Thanks for the reply this is my third Mini and I've had the DPF filter empty a few times it's not that it's more like a grinding noise it's definitely from within the exhaust
