New 4dr hardtop S. I have to clean my chrome exhaust tips almost every day as they become blackened very quickly. Seems odd that it is so frequent and persistent. Normal?
Thanks
If you do lots of short journeys it could be condesation in the exaust which is picking up all the black crud in the exhaust then dripping it out the tail pipe.
Yes same here on both f56 cooper and roadster s.I find a good polish with autsol leaves a great shine and for a couple of months at least it sponges off. Worse on the roadster s i assume because it does fewer miles and shorter journeys as stated.above.
Same here on the JCW exhaust with chrome tips but it's easy to clean with a wet sponge so no problem for me. Better to have this black pollution on the exhaust than in the air
Agree that is common - but that frequency is not what I get, however my daily travel is on highway -- Also I have my cooper s on "sport mode" and going so fast the black just falls out of the pipes !
Much cheaper than I thought they would be, 50 bucks for the set. They remove with a set screw in the bottom. But to be clear, these are the chrome tips from the tuning kit not OEM. But unless the tips on the OEM are welded they will likely come off in a similar fashion.
