I was hoping to install black taillight rings on my F55 5-door MCS, but my dealer insists that the ones currently in production for the F56 don't fit the F55. Is this true, and/or does anyone know where I can find them if the solution is indeed aftermarket?

I would say your dealer might misinformed you out motoring sell them for the F55/56/57. I do not see a difference in the rings between the 55/56.

It would seem very strange to have different ones for the different F's and costly so I'd agree with Evlkarl...

Just a FYI I am not a fan of the stick on in the pic from o/m was just was an example Have your Dealer order them if they fit pay for it if not give them back to the parts guy.

CF on Ebay also said they fit the F55/56. Wow they look good.

Looking at Realoem.com they list the same Black Trim part numbers for F55 and F56.
The MINI USA site says that they do not fit, but the F55 and F56 use the same tail light assembly part numbers.
Looks like you'll be fine and the dealer is going by what their system says, which appears to be incorrect.

I can confirm they are the same. My parts guy said the same thing before I got my F55 so I decided to chance it and bought the "F56" ones and...shocker...they are the same. All the parts catalogs confirm this now as well - same part number.
