Yes! Among other things. There's a thread.Anyone reading this that is on the fence about ordering roof rails - ORDER THEM!
Technically they can be retrofitted, but what would have been a $250 option from the factory turns into a price 10x that and there is no official "kit" or procedure for this, just the dealer doing their best and from what I've heard it's possible, but it's a pain.
You can order roof rails on either the F56 or F55, even if the configurator doesn't have it listed (they are always out of date).
Option code is 386 - price will depend on your country.
http://www.yakima.com/fit/baseracks/I'm told the only roof racks that will fit an F56 without roof rails is the Yakima racks with the "Q-Towers." Anyone try this or know someone who has?
Hi there, I have an F55 and was told when we ordered that we could not have a roof rail as an option at that point in time. I got the keys on 01 Nov 14. Can you please confirm the roof rail issue as I will be contacting BMW if I was not given the total facts.Hi, First post, been reading the forum for a few months now, ever since ordering my F55 coopers Sd, Auto, but resisted getting involved.
I now have something usefull to say.
When the F55 was first announced I went to the dealer and pointed out thet the F56 had roof bars but they did not show on the F55 config, I agreed to order an F55 provided it came with them, it took about two months for the dealer to confirm this, lots of phone calls and emails to mini product development etc, Finally confirmed, the are available £155 option, Makes the car a whole lot more useful to me.
Mine due mid November, never waited this long for a car befoe
Did you manage to get roof rails fitted? regards MichaelHi,I've been looking on the MINI site building our new one (like we all do) yet againand looking at the F55 I cannot find the roof rails as an option on this yet,but you can spec the on a F56 any ideas

Well, they are drilling into our new car today....gulp. Please everyone cross your fingers and toes!Yes if in any doubt order rails. You don't want someone drilling your roof!
So the dealer is installing roof rails on a car that shipped without them? Did it cost a lot more than the factory option? I thought about getting it but I'm not sure I need them. Since I was on the fence I opted for no rack but it would be nice to know whether or not I could add one in the future if I wished.Well, they are drilling into our new car today....gulp. We stated when buying it (2015 hardtop S 4-door) we needed a roof rack to buy it. They showed us F56 racks online saying here they are, no roof rails needed....uh, NOT. So here we are, installing super expensive roof rails.
I wouldn't call my dealer/sales guy liars exactly, just total idiots who know nothing about specific models.
I just hope my big Thule box will fit. ;/
It's about $2000 - $3000 to retrofit, depending on the dealer. So the dealer is installing roof rails on a car that shipped without them? Did it cost a lot more than the factory option?
