Hi guys, pls get back if one has experienced same problems or has any experience with this ...
Case: based on AC Schnizer config, I've just installed 19/7.5 Dotz Interlagos wheels , ET front 39, back 44, with 215/35/19 Hankook S3 tires.
With 18" originals I was able to reach top speed above 245 in 6th gear, but with the new combo I'm able to top at 230 in 5th, while in 6th car is only keeping achieved speed ( or tops at 225 if toping in 6th).
Swapped back to 18 and top speed is back...
Taking in to the account new combo dimensions, shown speed should be only 5-6km/h lower ( still above 240) .
What worries me the most ( can't find an explanation) is lack of pulling power in 6th.
Any experience or technical explanation is wellcomme 😉 thx, d
Assuming the new wheel/tyre combo is a greater circumference than those which are being replaced, you're at a mechanical disadvantage now. Although in theory the top speed should be higher, this only works if you have the hp to overcome the wind resistance with the resulting taller effective gearing.
Thank you Dragonfly. Makes sense, yet don't believe that AC Schnizer would sell same wheel combo in aftersails if speed is reduced. Hope someone with 19" installed will elaborate his/her experience. Have a great one.
Are you going by speedometer indicated speed? Or GPS?
..because if you have made an increase to tyre circumference, your speedometer will now be reading low. The car is going faster than the speedometer says it is.

You have effectively given the car taller gearing by installing the larger (increased circumference) wheels, in order to overcome this you need more torque (turning force).
You already have the supporting mods installed, perhaps it's remap time if top speed is of great importance to you.
The Forge intercooler, mainly, and the hard pipe helps a little too. A knowledgeable ECU tuner should be able to extract a safe 300hp from your pre-LCI JCW.
No worries guys at my age it's more about the feeling that car is capable of achieving the top speeed ...anyways & fyi; just googled ...not so drastic here...for 50kmh+ on highway you get 1.2K eur ( if paid in 7 days 50%off) plus 9 penalty points ( max 18 in 2 Y).
