Changed from Pre LCI LED to LCI LED and getting the same Turn Indicator error. Any ideas?
Fire up Bimmercode and set the indicators to LED.

It still thinks they're incandescent.

completed work !! reuse the existing wiring, for information several cables are crossed and in the original halogen wiring.

Everything works correctly in the absence of installing the height adjustment sensors.

Thank my friend @empo for help, and to all of you of course.

Dragging this thread back up again.

I still haven't gotten round to fitting mine, but thought I'd share this.

This was recently posted in a Facebook group.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of replica electronics, and I will be sticking with my genuine lights, but this might be an option for some.

And as AliExpress links don't live forever, I've also taken a screen video of the add.

Because the ONE thing these have over genuine lights is the sequential indicator!

Morning
I called the same specialist garage that did your level sensors (I have the same issue here and it will fail the MOT) and they said you made the wiring connections? Do you have a reference for the wiring/pins into the BDC you can share? Everything is working as it should here apart from the level sensor issue. Assume I will need to replace the manual adjuster switch as well?
Thanks in advance

I was going to wire them in myself, but they actually did that for me.

Anyway, I will PM you regarding the wiring diagrams.

Ok, necro-ing this thread again.

I'm kicking my arse into gear to get this done.

I have 2 questions, mostly going out to those that have done the halogen > LED conversion, but to anyone with knowledge.

CAN3 is already populated at the BDC.

I have THREE pairs of wires to attach to CAN3. Both headlights, and the spotlights.

What is the best way to connect them?

Should I use a 4 way splice?

I don't know if additional headlight retrofit kit has the 5 way miniature connectors

Electrical wiring Cable Gas Audio equipment Electronic component

But I also don't know if connecting all 3 pairs at the same point is a good idea.

As I see it, I have 3 ways to splice.

Assuming I can get the multiway splice
Code:
BDC ---+--- R3
       |
       +--- Left
       |
       +--- Right
       |
       +--- Spots
Otherwise I run them all off the main line
Code:
BDC ---+---+---+--- R3
       | | |
       | | +--- Left
       | |
       | +------- Right
       |
       +----------- Spots
Or I daisy chain them
Code:
BDC ---+----------- R3
       |
       +---+------- Left
           |
           +---+--- Right
               |
               +--- Spots
One other option could be to wire up a socket, splicing the pigtails on one side together, and plugging R3, left, right, and spots into it, and plugging that into the BDC?

Code:
+--- BDC
|
+--- R3
|
+--- Left
|
+--- Right
|
+--- Spots

@ndal2 I'm trying to put LCI headlights in my pre-LCI F56 with the full led package. I see you've helped with coding but wanted some pointers if you had them. I've got Bimmercode but not sure if I need more to make this work, any input you can give would be amazing.

Also the donor car for the LCI lights is going to get my pre-LCI lights, so any idea how it would work going backwards too?

Thanks!

You need Esys for sure. You cant inject coding file to headlight's module with Bimmercode. Msg me and I ll share links.

These lights look interesting, but note the shipping.
For me the lights are a fairly reasonable $761.53 cdn, but the shipping is an astronomical $439.84, over 50% of the cost of the unit.

And then there's the possibility of import duties!

Dear everyone,

I‘m from Germany and new to this forum but I‘ve viewed some of the threads (especially this one) already for a while. Maybe as you’re already imagine I‘m planning to retrofit the lci headlights on my MINI F56 Pre-LCI from 2015.

Until now I‘ve got the LED headlights with cornering light; as I understood from the threads here I need the full LED headlights with cornering and Matrix. Otherwise the install will not be as easy as it could be.

I’ve already ordered both headlights. The ones with cornering and Matrix (and automatic height adjustment).

Sadly it seems that no other German Carguy already tried to retrofit the LCIs on his car, so that it is nearly impossible to find information about what I have to do to get my headlights running.

I‘m writing this message because I hope to find (or get) some help from you. :)

Especially which parameters have to be customized with esys. I will not do this personally but my coding guy needs to know what he has to do.

Sorry for my long (and I think very German) message. :D

I would be very grateful for your help and feedback.

Much greetings from Germany!
Fabian

Hi all, Im just sourcing some LCI headlights for my 2015 pre LCI Mini F56.
Can i just transfer over my modules from the old headlights to the new? my current car has LED headlights.
(Most sold on ebay have just the headlight but no module)
apologies if this has been answered but I couldnt see a clear answer.

Any help is appreciated
