I'm currently 18 and my first car is a F56 Mini Cooper bought in March 2015 here are some modifications I have done to it since then. I wanted to make it look like a John Cooper Works since I knew I wouldn't get insured with one I wanted to make a Cooper look like one so below is what I have done I hope you enjoy it.

I managed to sneak a picture next to a real one which was fun.

Here is the car before it was modified as you can see a lot has been done

Insurance

Yeah sadly that is a give away. You can buy one online for a semi reasonable price thinking of doing it but not sure yet

That's another problem but sadly can't buy a different one that looks like the S or JCW ones. Thanks for the compliments really appreciate it.

Yep all is declared and legal and luckily my insurance isn't too bad still l. Glad you like the car

Don't get too hung up on the scoop, petrol cap etc. I think what you've done is about right, ie it looks like a JCW from the colour scheme and roof spoiler.

You'd need pretty deep pockets to go much further: off the top of my head, bumpers front and back, bonnet, exhaust, petrol cap, wheel arches, brakes, etc. You might get lucky on ebay, and
great if you're handy with a spanner.

Ive found a bonnet on ebay for £410 so not too bad. I have got further mods planned for my car that being lowering coilovers and 3SDM 0.04 pictures below

If not these I cannot decide these are XXR 553's what wheels do you prefer. Either ones I want to powder coat them red.

Once stanced I'm going to get a stance nation windscreen decal on top of a red banner

I might then start on engine I'm talking re maps and performance parts to make it perform better

I had a quick nosey on ebay, saw a few cheaper bonnets but all damaged.

Sounds like you've got a good idea how you want the car to look. Ah I remember the good old days, living at home, no kids... no ex wife..... money to spend on mods. good times. Since you're 18 I don't expect you've too many kids, or an ex-wife.

Of those 2 wheels, I prefer the 2nd option, assuming you can get them in the correct fitment, offset etc. Whatever you do, keep us updated with pics.

Yeah no kids yet one day though I was looking at one with a few scratches from storage looks like the cleanest one. I think the second option would be good as well. Subscribe to this post and I think it keeps you updated not too sure but will definitely update every time I do something new
