Hi All,

Haven't posted in a while and those that know me will know why. For those that dont I work with aircraft and travel all the time.

Got back to the F56 this week and today took it for a spin to Wales

Was driving down the M4 today and all of a sudden a pipe just dropped into the footwell. Must be from the Air system.

Anyone else had this? (Attached image)

How bizarre and more importantly what the ****

That not so good! I've tweeted Mini and MiniUK and after 7 hours had no response. I've also called my dealer twice with no response!
Gutted at the service level....

If anyone one like to help with this then please retweet and favourite my tweet as I want Mini to know that this is not on.

This is a riot, a car that makes its own spare parts. If you save all the stuff that falls out from under the dash, eventually you'll have enough parts to build a new Mini. To think american car owners have to buy thier spare parts from the dealership. LOL
Yeah, it's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.

What's the next part to fall off? The steering wheel?

I had a check on mine and put my hand round the back of the glove box to see if I could feel the pipe, which I could.

If it is just an air pipe and not held on by clips, just a push fit over the the pipe stubs at either end, it should be possible to feel where the two stubs are behind the glove box and in the central area, and push the pipe back onto them.

I certainly would do that first and if it can't be done without taking the whole dash out then so be it, let them do it.
Or let them do it anyway, in my case I live too far away to easily pop into dealers for things that I may be able to fix myself.

Make sure they have the fault registered on their database, for the benefit of others.

It seems strange that it would fall off in the first place. Is it going to keep falling off every few thousand kilometres? I would imagine a couple of hose clamps would fix that but if the pipe isn't carrying much pressure, then it should stay on without clamps.

The last car I owned that was prone to having parts fall off was a Honda Civic. I really liked driving it but it was scary the things that went wrong with it. I hope I am not going to relive that experience.
