Currently drive a Red Cooper with White Roof. Had it for 5+ years, not quite from new. Been reliable and very "go-kart" like.
Favourite thing: Change of direction!
Least favourite thing: Price of run flat tyres.
Average MPG over my ownership of car: 38

But... that's going soon, in favour of a Red Cooper S 2014 !!!! More detail when it finally arrives.
Excited about: Bit faster.
Pleased with: No run flat tyres. Should save £50 per corner.
Concerned about: Will it manage 30 mpg?
Most opulent option: Leather Seats.

Congratulations!

If I was you I would be very excited about it being a lot faster! Even the standard Cooper is noticeably quicker!

Definitely expect an improvement in fuel economy; on a cruise the new Cooper S should hit 50mpg, but not if you keep hitting that accelerator!

When are you picking up the car? Is it from the Ocean group?

Hi guys

I've had my 2016 Mini Cooper for a whole week now. He's electric blue with black roof, mirrors, trim and alloys - looks totally sweet. I'm loving every minute (driving him, staring at him and smiling about him), except for his dodgy little quirk of not going into any gears every now and then. It feels like somethings blocking the gear shift 'electronically' rather than mechanically, if that makes sense.

Got him from Westerly Barnstaple and they were great. I've told them about the quirk. I've worked out that (touch wood) the problem doesn't happen when I switch of the start/stop function.

Hi Squidge welcome to the forum from another North Devon local!

Is yours a manual or auto? Because your issue doesn't sound right!

Hi Minikiter

It's a manual with a couple of hundred miles on the clock. I just know it's going to be one of those problems that never happens at the garage. I'll get them to have a really good look when he goes in for a service, but in the meantime I'll work round it unless it becomes a real pain.
