Fresh owner of F56 Cooper S, 2018, DCT

Welcome, I love th DCT gearbox! I just wish they would go for 7DCT500 instead of 7DCT300 on the cooper s and install it also on the JCW models instead of the AISIN8

I thought the JCWs had the ZF8hp like the bmws. Damn i guess im never getting a jcw. id take the cooper s dct over the jcw any day.

My 2022 MINI Cooper S came with the DCT (7-speed dual clutch transmssion). What a great car and transmission. And I say this after spending nearly 24 months and 25K miles with my 1st MINI, a 2018 JCW with a 6-speed. Was with great reluctance I traded the S just a couple of months after buying it and with just over 7K miles for a 2023 JCW with a 6-speed. But had I room for 3 cars I would have kept the S.

Don't know about all JCWs but the newer models come with a traditional automatic which uses a torque converter.
