Spent August trying to get my mpg as bad as i could.!!!!! Tee hee; managed to get it down to 38mpg average for the month whereas previous was 44! pretty pleased! poor car! mind i did treat him to an oil change at 6000mls!

Went to Mini Invasion 2015 in Ottawa, Canada. Had an awesome time at the checkpoints, function and the drive there with all the Minis. Put about 1000kms on the odometer for the weekend.

Sounds like a lot of fun the Mini Meeting. I just put 100K on my new Volvo Semi that I took over last Year August with 500 Miles on the Clock. I do too take a lot of trips just in the wrong Car.

You could take it to loads of places and save fuel

Davo, if I piggy back the Mini on my Volvo my Fuel Mileage will take a big hit I barely now get 7. 56MPG it could be done. Maybe I can hide my Mini under my Roof Spoiler

Nothing too exciting outside of a few standard vacation trips. Did park next to a classic 1975 mini clubman for sale though. Wanted to buy it right there on the spot but my better half said no. I guess I understand....but not really.

I know most people on this forum don't like seeing high MPG, but as a person who hates paying more than necessary, I am absolutely floored at the mileage these cars gets. I was nervous at first because of the small fuel tank, but they are made for long road trips.

Also, the boot holds way more luggage than expected, much to the surprise of our traveling companions

On the trip to Ottawa and back, was getting 5.0 L/100km average. Mind you was in green mode for a lot of the highway cruising.


I am also stunned by the fuel efficiency, anytime I can get almost 600km on only 40 liters of fuel with a 70/30 ratio of city/highway driving daily is tremendous. When I say city, I mean stuck in gridlock for the first 15km of my 50km commute in the evenings going home. And often the inverse in the mornings if I leave 10 min too late.

After a break in period of 3000 kilometers I maxed my MCS on the German Autobahn and peaked at 241 km/hr on GPS.

Always fun to chase big BMW's and Audi's because they can't stand the fact that in many cases they can't keep up
