I just traded my 2012 mini copper d with heated seats in. Picked up the new f56 copper s on wed. It also has heated seats. But am finding the seats very poor heat. This is the case in sport and normal mode. As I know in Eco mode it effects the cabin temp and heated seats. Has anybody else found this with the new heated seats?

Ok so it's just me. My old seats where cloth centre and leather sides. New seats other way round. I think I will have to call back to garage and get them to check it. And try out the demo when I am there. I have been driving passengers around and they have not noticed it was on. That never happened in my old mini.

Was there any result from this? I hope they heat better now :D

I took the car back to the dealer. I jumped into the demo car they have and the heat was just the same. Very low. They told me that mini is coming inline with BMW and all heated seats are not as warm as they where. So that's that then they just are not as good as the old seats.

I can't really comment on the heated seats on the F56 as I'm still waiting for mine.

However, I do have them on my 2011 JCW.

I find them a bit hit and miss.

Sometimes I turn them on full and I have to turn them down after 10 minutes.

Other times I turn them on full and barely feel the heat through my clothing.

I thought it could be the thickness of my clothing, i.e. wearing jeans or thinner trousers.

But even in my work uniform trousers (which are made of fairly thin material) I sometimes find the seats not hot enough even on full

Mine seem to work extremely well, I had to turn them down actually because it was SO hot.

Cant comment on the F56 but had full leather heated seats in my old 2012 Cooper D and they were extremely hot on the top setting, you had to turn them down and even then got a sweaty back sometimes!

I think your dealer is pushing the back as a big job to replace the heating elements. We have heated seats in are f56 and are brilliant can remember they took a week or so to bed in as at first where not really hot but no should be hot after 4 mins that you turn them down. The other car we drive is a 64 plate m235i bmw and seats get so hot they burn your bum so sorry dealer if they are getting inline with bmw we should all have very pink bottoms lol

My 2008 heated seats warmed up very rapidly. So quickly I had to turn it off after 10 min on low setting. My 2013 coupe sux much what you are experiencing. My 2015 F56 a close second to my 2008. Slower to warm up compared to my 2008, but you can keep it on a longer period of time on the low setting.

I've had my MCS since Feb 28 and I've never had a problem with the heated seats. As some others have posted, the heating element is so powerful that after a few minutes I have to switch it to the lowest setting. And then switch it off after a few more since the seats are already too warm for the butt. :)

Mine seem to start warming me up very quick, but don't seem to get too hot, but on the other side of the coin, my Mrs. swears by her passenger side heated seat and says it's really hot and gets hot quick. So maybe mine just doesn't get as hot? Either way I don't think mine is anything to worry about, I just put it down to the thick coat and the jeans I wear.

Is it correct that the heated seats will not get as warm when in Green mode? I was cruising down the motorway this morning in Green with my heated seats on full. 30 minutes later I realised that I could hardly feel any warmth coming from my seat. I'd actually forgotten I'd put the heated seat on as I couldn't feel anything and that was on full! Is this right or is there something wrong with my car? I didn't try switching to a different mode I have to say as I didn't realise that could make a difference. Car is in at the dealer anyway today and I asked them to check the heated seats but have now just come across this thread. In all my other MINI's the seats have virtually scorched my behind they got so hot.
