G'Day! Another Aussie here. :)

Long time lurker, first time poster.

It's been great reading through the forum and speccing up my soon to be ordered MINI. Can't place that order until I decide on a colour which is proving to be near on impossible. I'm now down to two colours which is quite an achievement and has been a real process let me tell you.

I'm interested in pics of MINI's to help me make this final decision so will be loitering around everyone's garages. Hope you all don't mind.

I'd also love to hear from from other Aussie's or anyone really who can provide tips on negotiating with their dealer. I know every car brand is different and this being my first MINI I'm not sure how much wriggle room they have.

Thanks and I'll see you all around.

Thanks Mark.
I think that's my problem though I love all the colours. Ha-ha.
I'm going to pop down to the dealer again this weekend to see the colours in person and hopefully make a decision.
VO or Deep Blue! They are both so nice.

G'day Skippy! From right up the top end in Aus here in Far a North Queensland. My VO Cooper S is 4 weeks new and had to fly 3000km to see any in the flesh down in Sydney. There were no VOs in the country at the time but I think we were sold on the colour long before that. It just matched our environment and lifestyle ;)
Feel free to have a sticky in my Garage pics.

Hey Skippy
I settled on the Deep Blue. Where abouts are you! I ordered mine from Mini Garage Sydney. Is this your first Mini?
You'll obviously have more bargaining power if you grab one off the showroom floor. But no doubt if you're ready to order then and there, generally speaking dealers will throw things in to sweeten the deal.

Thanks Everyone.

I'm in "sunny" Melbourne.

I really do love the VO, I just feel somewhat restricted in the interior due to the outside colour. Also worried that every single F56 will be a VO. Although my dealer laughed at me when I said that as Melbournian's love Black, Black, a little Silver and well Black. He reckons that's mostly what he sells.

One day you'll be able to change the paint from the key fob, just like you can change the interior lights by pressing a button...
Mark they need to invent this right now. I'd totally wait until next year if they did. :)

I'll definitely have a look thank you.
So jealous of your weather at the moment. Need a holiday up North I think.

I'm from the lil country to the south east of you aussies.
Put in an order for a S, 2 months back, and will be receiving the car in a few days.

Colour: Deep Blue. First of all it's metallic. Secondly, I won;t get it mixed up in a carpark full of VO. ;P

Negotiation: Tough. None of the dealers I've talked to would budge, unless it's floor stock.
I managed to get free leather seats and upholstery due to a miss print on the very first spec sheet. So I'd like to think i'm a more lucky one :)

Thanks Lonelycupid.

You share my thoughts exactly on the colour. Look forward to seeing them this weekend in the flesh and hopefully it will all be clear in my mind which to go for.

Thanks for your insight on the negotiation. Kind of confirmed my thoughts, I may need to really have another look over my specs.

Welcome Mate,

DC from Sydney. Good luck with the colour, I settled on Black, black shoes (rims) grey leather...etc i got over deciding haha...

I'll be taking delivery in the next few weeks, so if you don't make up your mind, I'll post up some pics.

As for dealer negotiation, my dealer was awesome! It really does depend on the people you speak, one guy at Parramatta was a complete moron...North Sydney, got the deal done in 15 minutes.

Sucks to be Parramatta... Lol
