Been trying to get an answer to this for awhile now... I don't want to have to play my imported music one song at a time. At least I can just jack into the aux input and use my Amazon cloud player...

I upload music to the hard disc, but was having trouble figuring out how to create playlists. I asked about this and got some helpful replies in the following thread:
http://www.minif56.com/forum/289-mi...2106-managing-music-collection-playlists.html

I tried QMark's method, and it works well for me, so have kept using that.
1. create playlist using iTunes & drag MP3 files to USB memory stick. Insert stick in Mini.
2. Move to Media on central screen, select 'external devices' - click on USB memory stick
3. From left-hand menu, select 'import new music' - the system will tell you when this is done
4. Go back to Mini Music Collection to find imported playlist as a new imported folder. To do this, click on Music Search at the top of the left-hand menu. Ignore the various search criteria offered (song, artist, genre etc.) and just click on the top item in the list - 'search folder'?
5. This brings up a list of all the separate folders you have imported from the USB port. The top one in the list will be the playlist you've just imported and you can now play that either in order, or randomly.
6. A last point - you may want to give each folder a different name (I have 'Rock Classics', 'Lounge' etc.). Sometimes I can do this by naming the USB stick on my laptop and this name is given to the folder that's imported to the Mini. Other times, this doesn't work for some reason, and the Mini gives the folder a numerical name. If this happens, click on the new imported music folder, then move right to the options menu. It allows you to rename the folder as you like.

The vis boost doesnt come with the hard drive, it has to be specced and paid for in addition. If you dont have it you are limited to attaching a ipod or usb stick to the usb slot. You cant use playlists with the usb stick option

errr... get iTunes? I guess there are other apps for managing digital music, but that's what most people seem to use (Available for Windows too, right?).
Yeaaaaah that's not happening. The other software I can handle, though. Of course that assumes I actually get around to it. Between my Sirius and my Amazon cloud player on the phone, it's kind of like saying, "But wait... I have this old mix tape I want to add in too..." I can, though, see dumping entire albums into the car's brain and letting it roll through those like I enjoy now and again with my brainless Ridgeline and its CD player.

finally able to get the songs in the order i want i just put numbers in front 1. 2. 3. 4. etc at the very start of the songs name works great for anyone wanting there songs in a certain order .
I didn't have to put numbers in front of the songs to get them to play the order I wanted. I opened up the VLC player and just dragged and dropped the song into the order I wanted then just saved the playlist.
