You got to plan ahead so for the last couple of weeks I started building my next Mini. :) Sadly I can not jump the gun yet because a kitchen remodel is next on the list. The G/F is planning her new kitchen while I build my next Mini. Trust me the pencil will be very sharp to have some $$$ left over for my next Mini.:D Since my Dealers do not have the color combos in stock to look at it if you have those combos would you be so kind to post some pics. Thank you

I have it nailed down to 2 colors Deep Blue and BRG. I am still not 100% sure if I want a white or black roof. Either way the car will have black wheels. Also I am still open if I upgrade to a MCS.

Wheels and roof need to match in my opinion but the roof colour really affects how you see the body colour. In your climate this isn't too much of a problem but for us who live under dark skies these colours particularly need the white to lift them.

I ultimately chose BRG for it's classic look and it's worn well, not showing the inevitable swirls or marks that dark colours can.

Them buffer marks in the black roof drive me bonkers had the car detailed he got must of them out but still also was thinking a white roof might be the better way out here in the oven called Arizona

I was seriously contemplating the deep blue as it looked sooo good on the mini build site until i saw it in person, just didnt have the same wow factor so i went with chilli red. It might have been the combo they used.

Black or white roof? Black is more stealthy where white with white stripes and wheels really stands out and looks more toyish in my opinion.
I would go blue and white roof or brg with black roof

Im sure you will have lots of time to contemplate this and probably end up with something completely different in a last minute decision.

Well Karl....the white over blue looks better to me in the pic above. It's truly a balancing act isn't it? Being in Arizona says "white roof" but I love my black MINI & the black roof with spoiler is so cool imo!

Pepper white or one of the other silver/silver white colors with black roof would look stellar too!

BRG with white roof is a classic look!

Decisions decisions...lol!

Have fun!

There's always VO with black roof as well! That would look great with black wheels!

Everyone has their favorites...no matter which color combo you choose, I am sure with your good taste your baby will look marvellous.

Personally, I prefer white roof and white mirror caps, with a lighter body color.
Dark Body Colors tend to make the car look smaller and shows ALL marks on the paint.

In addition, after about 1 year you can see how the darker paint color fades. Then it no longer looks like showroom condition for those who care. For me, wheels should always match the roof color......for white roof I prefer silver wheels, not white ones.

These decisions should be our biggest worries in life. ;)

......enjoy with whatever decision you make, I am sure it will be the right one !

And the S offers a lot of bangs, pops, and gurgles with a JCW PRO or after market exhaust plus a significant increase in performance! Do you remember the old commercial, try it you'll like it. I thought I was going to die? Well, this is not the case with the sound and fury of the S. Sort of a Siren's song for me like peanuts on a banana split.

Big question - sunroof or no sunroof?

If sunroof, black roof. There isn't much white left with a sunroof.

I had the same dilemma on body colours but after looking at them both side by side in the lot I went with the deep blue and black with sunroof.

Most likely no sunroof it is just too hot here in AZ for a sunroof including if I tint it and with the shade.:(
Enjoy the process, there is enough available information now that you can plan and make informed decisions about what you want on your new toy. Then of course once you make the decision. Mine was an agonizingly slow, long, four months, but it was worth the wait.

i remember back when i worked in car interior manufacturing, Toyota referred to sunroofs as moonroofs because the only time it was cool enough and humidity-free enough to open them was at night

You're correct about us all liking different colors, but I can't agree with your statements about black. I have several black cars, some metallic & one is solid black (my '88 M5 with original Glasurit paint with no clearcoat). Black, or any color, will not look good over time if not taken care of, but brighter colors like red especially tends to fade easier, not black. Black will show imperfections more, this is why so many high end collector cars in black that have perfect straight panels & fit will easily bring more money due to their spectacular look when done right!

I do agree that dark colors tend to make some cars look smaller....that also goes with regard to using certain color combinations, including wheel color choice. Also, I still believe the larger wheels look better on the F56 MINI too.

Certain colors are more difficult for a body/paint shop to match than others...white is the toughest color to match, black (especially non-metallic) is the easiest to match.

For someone who doesn't care if their car looks dirty, has swirl marks, and uses an automatic car wash, etc. white or silver may be for you. I love white...I have a Chamonix '72 2002tii that is gorgeous, but white doesn't show body lines as well as some colors like black and silver.

Choosing a color depends on more than personal preference for a particular color, but how you want the car to be presented and how well it looks on the body style you want including bumpers, the car's profile, etc.

Some people prefer classic MINI colors, others like a color just because they like a particular color, but it might not be the best color for the car you want.

So, a lot of thought should go into your decision. But, bottom line....it needs to be fun right? I believe this is why the online configurator is so much fun to play with! I only wish it wasn't wrong on certain things, as it has been in the past...for instance it "still" says the 18" cup spoke wheels are 7.5" wide while they are 7" wide!

I believe the best middle of the spectrum colors are probably blue, green, or chocolate/coffee colors.
