Both are BMW engines that share the same bore and stroke but my Cooper makes 134 horsepower and the BMW i8 makes 234 horsepower. I guess a much larger more sophisticated turbo and a higher compression ratio but there must be more then that.

Your thoughts?

Probably larger injectors too but ultimately so it is said having the engine in this state of tune makes it very inflexible and hugely hard work but the electric motors fill in !

I've read and was told by someone at BMW that it's very tuneable and can easy double it's output in a Cooper but wouldn't say how!

Wow, going to wish i'd kept mine -mind wonder how the gearbox would cope with that much power! it MUST be doable!

By the time you've doubled the power you've probably spent double the amount it would cost just to get a Cooper S and a mild tune.
