Wow pretty!! However I think I could find this a bit annoying after a while ;-) I assume it's possible to 'set' it at one colour?

if you have the led excitement pack you can change the colours, have various situations change colours... like turning the heating up or down, voice commands from the sat nav or have it mimic the rev counter... ie it lights up round the clock as you rev the engine.

you can also alter the brightness with the cockpit dash lighting so it doesnt have to be so bright...

of course you can have it turned off completely if you so wish... or have it mimic the same lighting as your chosen cabin lighting... this option i do find a bit too bright, as i dont want the foot wells at the same intensity as the illumination around the clock...

its all good fun tho and makes it unique :)

I couldn't deal with the excitement promised by the Excitement Pack and also didn't opt for the Interior Lights Package, as I didn't want a pair of LEDs at the top that I couldn't turn off.

Now I'm wondering if I'll get the courtesy lights in the footwell.

It's not quite as bright as what the video suggests, but it is fun.

The light piping, which are the optic cables which follow the curvatures of the door ellipses only come with the MINI yours interior packs, e.g. dark cottonwood or off white, but you don't need these packs for general door lighting, i.e. bins and handles. Unless someone can tell me otherwise....

This is what I'm led to believe also. I'm going for the Dark Cottonwood interior also.

Truly tasteless, to my eyes. But if you never drive beyond the suburbs, I guess it is more interesting than the dull drive home. Even in a second generation car, choosing the blue or green interior light colour produces distracting reflections when driving on completely unlit roads.
